Sewaktu awal pengepungan Melaka pada tanggal 13 Julai 1511, Ferdinand Magellan, salah seorang kapten armada Alfonso de Albuqurque, berjaya menculik seorang lelaki yang kemudiannya mereka menamakan sebagai Enrique Maluku.
