It was the last period of a gloomy Friday, the physics teacher was blabbering
about conservation of mechanical energy as usual, all the while draining my

mental energy. My eyelids were so droopy I could barely hold my eyes open.
Sometimes I did faff ll asleep, but aftff er getting yelled at by the teacher and looking
at the clock, there was no visible diffff eff rence of the minute hand. When will this

             class end?

Just as the teacher was going to yell again, I was awoken by a flff ash of
lightning outside, which made me jump up frff om my chair slightly. Not long aftff er,
big drops of rain came cascading down which only made me drowsier. Finally the

bell of frff eedom sounded, but nature got ahead. My umbrella could hardly
withstand the strong gusts of wind. Along the way to the MRT station, wind blew

rainwater onto my faff ce, passing cars splashed up water onto my shoes and the
students in frff ont of me were taking their time strolling. Woorrse yet, by the time I
arrived at the station, the MRT had just leftff by the margin of a minute.

Drenched with fiff lthy rainwater, with shoes that feff lt like squishy wet sponges,
the storm inside my heart was raging like the storm outside. How I miss my cosy

room and warm bed! “When will this end?” I groaned. I boarded the next MRT
and my foff otprints, or “watermarks”, were clearly visible. I wanted to sit down,
but the MRT was so crowded like a can of sardine that there wasn’t even enough

space to stand. This was my luck I guess. All I had to do now is to stand foff r an
             hour on this jam-packed train.

I feff lt so lucky to be the one standing ddiirrectly under the air-conditioning.
Nature’s gusts of wind outside could not get me, so manmade wind took over. I

tried with all my strength to cling onto the handle so as to not get anyone else wet,
but according to the laws of physics that I defiff nitely was paying attention to,

inertia and absorption of heat energy made my surroundings damp and frff eezing
cold. The other passengers were clearly agitated, but I would like to see them in
             my soggy shoes.
