some people say there is no such thing as a selfless act, that any time we do something to
help another person, we do get something in return, even if it’s just a warm feeling inside
our heart or a bright smile. When I mean helping others, it’s not just donating money to
orphanages or volunteering in charities that make a huge difference. Small acts of kindness
like encouraging a friend, thanking a teacher with a surprise gift, or greeting the janitor can
make a big difference in the lives of others. So, we should try our best to help others, what
we get in return may not be expensive gifts, money, or clothing, but the feeling of joy of
helping others.
When someone around us performs a good deed, it’s hard not to want to be
involved. When we see the happiness it brings them and those around them, it’s only
natural that we will want to catch a dose of their altruistic behaviour. Studies have
confirmed this, with people more likely to perform generous acts after observing someone
else doing the same. This means that it only takes one individual to start the domino effect
of inspiring people to help others. Hence, I believe a caring society starts with a caring
individual who is willing to lend their hand to those in need. A caring society starts with
you. Thank you.
