The Humanity Society debated on
the abolition of the death penalty. Capital
punishment has been abolished by a number of
countries and is fast becoming an international
hot debate topic recently. The Humanity Society
did just that, debating whether or not capital
punishment should be abolished in Malaysia.
They are divided into 2 groups, the ruling party
and the opposing party respectively. During the
activity, both parties clash as they debate their
way to victory.
The Chinese Creative Writing Society
had an interesting activity as well. If you were
given a choice by God, would you choose to
live towards death, or accept the fate of dying

towards life? This society gives the students a
chance to find out the true meaning of life and
death, as well as its purpose.
To wrap things up, all committee
members of each society gathered to take a
group photo to show their appreciation for
the efforts put into this successful cross-society
activity. As this cross-society activity was truly
a significant breakthrough for academic
societies, we hope this initiative will continue
with more academic societies collaborating in
the years to come
Language Week
With the theme "Bahasa Wadah Ilmu"
and the slogan "Cintailah Bahasa Kebangsaan",
the national language week, officially known as
Minggu Bahasa Kebangsaan (Minggu Bahasa
in short) is held from the 24th to the 28th of
June 2024 to celebrate and dignify Bahasa
Melayu as Malaysia’s official language and
a medium of knowledge and unity. This event
seeks to encourage a deeper appreciation
of Bahasa Melayu through various activities,
aiming to remind the students in CHKLl of the
beauty, richness, and value of our national
language, hoping to encourage the use of
Bahasa Melayu amongst the students.

has been carefully designed to bring forth the
essence and beauty of the Malaysian language
and culture:

(BM Zone):
To encourage the use of the Malaysian
Language, the BM Zone sets to facilitate
students to communicate in the Malaysian
language at the school’s bookshop, inspiring
students to uphold the language not only in
academics, but also their daily lives.
