I woke up at 6 in the morning. I felt
fresh and a bit nervous because today was
the day our parents had to take our report
cards in school. I brushed my teeth and wore
my school uniform. Suddenly, I smelled
something very yummy. I got attracted to the
smell. I followed the scent and it led me to
the dining table. I gasped when I saw the
food on the table. It was eggs and toast! I sat
down and enjoyed the scrumptious meal. It
only took me ten minutes to finish the food.
My mom was dressed in her lovely shirt with
a pair of jeans. As we walked out of the door,

knew today was going to be a great day.
We arrived at my school. I led her to my
classroom. We took our number and waited
patiently. I was smiling on the outside but
shaky on the inside. It was our turn next. I
could feel my hands trembling. My palms
were wet. “Number 24!” the teacher
shouted. That’s our number! I walked slowly
to the table. The teacher showed us my
report card. At first I wasn’t brave enough to
open my eyes but I slowly peeked at it. “No
way!” I told myself. I have gotten straight A’s
on my semester exam. Not just that, I also
scored top 3 in class. I thought this was all a
dream so I checked a few times. The results
never changed. Well, what could I say,
practice makes perfect I suppose. My teacher
knew I had put in a lot of effort and I had
improved.
On the way back home, my mom kept
congratulating me. I was indeed astonished
by my major accomplishment. My mom was
so impressed that she decided to take me to
my favourite restaurant for lunch. I yelled
with excitement. It didn’t take long for us to
reach there. When we stepped into the
restaurant, the workers shouted “Let’s give a
warm welcome to our 10,000th customer!”
