P. 2
Dear readers,
Principal’s First and foremost, I am very excited to see the final draft of the
8th Edition of Kaleidoscope. Every edition is the labour of love by the
Foreword teachers and students involved. I am pleased to see that we are
adopting a new schematic for the 8th Edition, taking a more
professional reporting approach. It is delightful to see our cute
mascots making their appearance in this magazine.
As an analogy, the operation of the school is akin to the running
of a big ship, not just any regular big ship - we are one of the largest
ships in Malaysia. We need collaborative efforts from every
department and stakeholder to keep this ship running and moving
forward. We have not been resting on our laurel post-Covid as we hit
the ground running with various exciting activities. Our dedication
and hard work are rewarded with conducive learning environment
and excellent academic results making us one of the best schools in
the eyes of the public.
'Raise the Flag' campaign is one of the highlights of the year. It is an annual campaign run by the
English Language Department which the students have been looking forward to. Of course, we could not
miss out our Sports Day in the National Stadium. All of you had done us proud with your outstanding
performances and excellent displays of athletic prowess. Our school has made another milestone this year
by being the first school in Malaysia to harvest and utilise solar energy in a large scale.
We are in the process of building our new Co-Curricular Activities Centre (CCA Centre). Upon
completion, we can organise many more activities within the school grounds. We are elevating the standing
of our school with this world class facility. At this moment, the building is about 30% completed although we
are still RM 15 million short of funds. The Charity Gala Dinner managed to raise RM 6 million for the new CCA
Centre, outperforming the initial targeted RM 3 million, thanks to our generous benefactors. I take this
opportunity to humbly express our heartfelt gratitude to the Chinese societies and chambers of commerce,
the Chinese community, parents, alumni, and students for your enthusiastic and unwavering support
throughout this winding road of vernacular education.
All in all, this has been a busy but rewarding year for all of us. Find out more in the belly of this
magazine. Happy reading and "Chong Hwa is lucky to have you".
