and my owner and I trudged all the way home,
slouching until our legs refused to carry us much
further. We were famished by the stifling heat of the
sun and we were walking like zombies that hadn’t
eaten for a week. After the walk back home, we
immediately decided to have lunch as we used up
all the energy jogging. My mother prepared some
sumptuous delicacies for us and we gulped down the
food in a minute or two.
After finishing the food, my owner decided
to do the plates and all of a sudden, a loud crash
could be heard from the kitchen. In carelessness, my
owner accidentally dropped the plate while trying to
place it back to the rack. My mother rushed to the
‘scene of crime’. There was tangible evidence, but
instead of punishing my owner, my mother asked if
she was alright and reminded her to be careful while
doing the dishes.
My owner walked to her room, her head was
low, as if she was about to cry. I consoled her with
a few meows and did some funny moves and my
owner was giggling and smiling again. My owner
decided to have a look at my homework but after a
short amount of time, she gave up understanding it
and decided to take a nap. I wasn’t exhausted so I
went outside the house to my neighbours’ house to
find their cat, Nelly, to play. Fortunately, Nelly had
just finished taking a nap and was very energetic. We
played with balls of yarn, played tag, and we had a
whale of time during the fun games.
After playing, I returned back home and
decided to take a nap to refill the energy that I lost
from the activites I had recently. I went to the basket

where the cat usually sleeps and took a short nap.
I dreamt that my owner and I were having fun. We
were playing chase on a large green meadow along
with some friends. The dream was stopped when I
heard something shrill ring by my ears. It was the
alarm which my owner forgot to turn off just now.
It was signalling that it was the end of sleeping time
and the arrival of dinner time.
While I was taking my dinner, something
cold and icy fell onto me. It was my clumsy owner,
she tripped on a book and she dropped the cup of
iced water, again. Curious, my mother questioned
my owner why she was careless today, she grinned
and took a towel and clumsily wiped the water. I
tried to laugh but I couldn’t.
Since tomorrow was a holiday, there wasn’t
a rush to complete the homework that the teacher
gave. The sound of the big old antique clock could
be heard from the bedroom, signalling it was time
for bed. We quickly tucked ourselves and we thought
about the things we had done today, it was hard but
meaningful. It could be an experience that we would
not ever forget.
Magnolia white clouds blanketed the
clear blue sky. Sunlight sneaked through the open
windows. I felt familiar again and rushed to the
mirror. I saw the original me standing in front of the
mirror, once again.
